How do we receive this life to the full?

Let's say you get in a boat and go far away from shore.  It's a nice day but all of a sudden a big storm comes up.  Your boat sinks and all you have left is an oar.  You can't swim to shore, it's too far, but the oar seems to keep you floating so you hold on to it.  You realize you need to be rescued.  You see a boat coming and a man has a rope that he is throwing out to you.  This is like Jesus who died and rose again for us.  He throws us the rope; he is the only way to a relationship with God.

You have a choice, are you going let go of the oar and grab the rope and be rescued or are you going to keep holding on to the oar?  You have to agree to be rescued.

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father but through me."  (John 14:6, the New Testament, the Bible)

You must put all of your trust in him and let go of whatever else you think could possibly rescue you.  Let go of the oar, grab the rope.
